A lot of things can be done more than 90% of the time if you do them once carefully.

This law is particularly marvelous, and tried and true. This was true when I was in school, even more so when I was working, and now I use this law to guide my subordinates, and it is still tried and true.

The reality is that the majority of people are not so serious about even very important things that they feel anxious about.

For example, when I was in school, I was very afraid of exams, stage speeches and so on, but I can say that very few people are serious about reviewing, writing good speeches or rehearsing a few times before going on stage. Those who take the initiative to ask for advice on how to study or learn presentation skills are even more rare.

Finding a job is certainly stressful, but even in the worst environments, there are many places that need talent. However, how many job seekers have seriously analyzed their own conditions and abilities, and open up their horizons to see the market demand, rather than flocking to pile up resumes? I think there are very few.

When I work, I am also afraid of the cumbersome process and the scolding of the leaders, but those who can do a serious check of the results or sort out the process and scheduling are also the most talented among people.

Many parents are anxious about their children’s academic performance, but it seems that the majority of parents are unable to analyze their children’s needs and take the initiative to learn how to be a parent and how to carry out family education.
To summarize, in the face of challenges, the vast majority of people are just anxious, nervous, fearful, resistance, can not settle down and honestly do it all over again, much less take the initiative to learn how to do. The result: just do it all over again in earnest and outperform 90% of the population. It really is that simple.

Of course, if you do it the first time, there are bound to be some oversights. Which brings us to the next law: do anything carefully three times (or even less than three times) and you’re an expert.

Certainly not the kind of scientist in archaeology or physics, merely an expert in general work, but adequate for the vast majority of jobs. People with apprentices can try it, that is, as long as a newcomer is willing to do something, up to three times to practice absolutely out of the master. It’s really amazing.

I just saw Musk say that he would do something ten times …… Think about the feeling of seeing something fail repeatedly, each time gaining experience and trying again, and it’s no wonder he’s able to outperform 99.999999% of the population.
